この度、LOWER AKIHABARA.では、足立篤史の個展を開催いたします。
記憶を記録すること。
足立は主に古い新聞記事を素材に、人間が通った道に刻まれた、腐敗しかけた遠い昔の記憶の中にあるモノを具現化します。
すでにこの世にはない戦艦や軍用機といった個体の細部を資料から起こすことで技術者の心を読み解き、モチーフと同時代に書かれた新聞資料を集めることでその時代に生きる価値観に触れ、さらに歴史的背景や形跡を知ることで刻まれた存在の記憶をたどり、一つの作品が生まれます。

刻まれた記憶、モノクロームな画（え）、腐敗する像（かたち）。
人々がかつては象徴とした物、記録の中にしまい込んだ風景、姿など、ある人には 不快であり、ある人には懐かしく、またカッコ良いと思うことであったかもしれな いかつての"カタチ"、それは時間の流れにより朽ち、記憶は画のように色彩をなく し、存在したカタチは消滅する。
だが、その痕跡、"記録"として、その存在たちは情報を遺し、記憶によりそのカタ チは"復元"される。 そこに存在するのは"記憶のカタチ" 際も生々しく、美しくもある記憶の姿。
Memory carved with, the image which are monochrome, the image which decay.
It is unpleasant for the thing which people ever assumed a symbol, the scenery which I put away in a record, a certain person including the figure, and ex-"form" which might be to think that good old, a parenthesis is good for a certain person again, it die by a flow at time, and the memory loses a color like an image, and the form that existed becomes extinct.
But, as trace, "record", existence leave information, and, as for the form, it is done "reconstruction" by memory.
Existing there form "of the" memory.
A figure of the memory that the verge is beautiful vividly.
